Yaoi (やおい) also known as Boys' Love (commonly abbreviated as "BL"), is a popular Japanese term for female-oriented fiction that focus on homoerotic or homoromantic male relationships, usually created by female authors. The two participants in a yaoi relationship are often referred to as seme (the top) and uke (the bottom).
