Harem is a subgenre of anime and manga characterized by a protagonist surrounded by three or more members of the opposite sex. The most common scenario is a male surrounded by a group of females; when this is reversed it is referred to as a reverse harem. Manga with this tag usually have multiple female partners and one male, with each female personifying a popular character type.
